Feith briefs Members of the European
Parliament on situation in Kosovo

Today the
European Union Special Representative in Kosovo,
Mr Pieter Feith, briefed Members of the Foreign
Affairs Committee in Brussels on recent
political developments: "The situation in
Kosovo has generally remained stable and calm
during the last seven months”. He underlined “we
have a good working relationship with the Kosovo
government and with our international partners –
which is of utmost importance facing the
challenges ahead of us.”

The European Union remains committed to playing a
leading role in ensuring the stability of Kosovo,
also through EULEX Kosovo, EUSR and its contribution
to an international civilian office as part of the
international presences. The EU welcomes the UNSG's
report on UNMIK and, as is described in his report,
his intention to reconfigure the international civil
presence in Kosovo.”

Prizren to continue working towards reconciliation and a
multi-ethnic society in Kosovo

Prizren is the cultural centre in the region and
Prizren belongs to all the communities and the
European Union is here tonight as a sign of European
engagement to Kosovo” Pieter Feith said when opening
the four hour programme of the “Come to Europe” roadshow in the old town centre of Prizren. Together
with the German Ambassador Hans-Dieter Steinbach he
welcomed the progress....
