Reception of EU presences in Kosovo
Heads of EU
presences in Kosovo - EU Special Representative, Pieter Feith; the
Czech Ambassador to Kosovo, Janina Hřebíčková; the Head of the EULEX
mission, Yves de Kermabon and the Head of the European Commission
Liaison Office, Renzo Daviddi - welcomed today representatives of
local authorities, international organization and civil society for
a New Year Reception..
At the opening of the reception the EU Special Representative and
the Czech Presidency in Kosovo made the following remarks:
Pieter Feith, EU
Special Representative:
“In 2008 Kosovo
demonstrated to the world its desire to take responsibility for its
own destiny, for its development, stability and reform and to show
readiness to join the Euro-Atlantic family of nations. In 2009 the
EU will remain focused with its all its resources to help Kosovo to
move towards a future replete with dignity for all, opportunities
for growth and prosperity for future generations.”
Janina
Hřebíčková, Czech Ambassador to Kosovo:
“We
believe that the EU perspective for all the Western Balkans’
countries is our strategic interest for stability, security and
conflict prevention in the region. It also contributes to increase
of prosperity, improvement of links of the main transport and energy
supply routes, strengthening of the position of the EU in the world,
and enables people to people contacts.”
